Saulius Pamerneckis, Architect of the Project “The Road of Freedom”, Vilnius City Architects’ Council Board member. I think that Lithuanians become united when they have a common goal – transparent and clear for all. Today such a goal does not exist. Everyone is deeply absorbed by their own problems, is angry and irritated. Maybe the nation will become more united, if each member of the nation thinks unselfishly: ‘What good things have I done to those around me?’

Small portion of the bricks will be redone due to the mistakes and some technical problems. There are still 170 more bricks that can be sold untill March 11th, 2011.

We are happy that you do not remain indifferent and have decided to insert your brick in the sculpture “The Road of Freedom” perpetuating the freedom and independence of Lithuania. Information you should know about contributing a brick:

  1. Bricks of which the sculpture will be built are of two types: personal – LTL 25 and family – LTL 50. You can also reserve a brick for other people whom you want to make happy, or those who are not able to do so themselves (do not use computers, cannot afford this financially, deceased people, etc.).
  2. Enter correctly, in small letters, (using Lithuanian characters) in the fields given below your forename and surname which will be stamped on the brick. Entering your family name observe the same rules. Any other entries or symbols written in place of the name or surname will not be stamped on the brick. If the name and forename is written incorrectly – the payer’s forename and surname will be stamped. Bricks can also be purchased for other people, but it is very important to fill out the order form correctly.
  3. After a few minutes the electronic image of the brick with your forename and surname or with the family name will be sent to the e-mail address specified by you.
  4. You will find your full name or your family’s name in the common list of people “inserting bricks”.
  5. The forenames and surnames of people inserting their bricks will be sent to the brickyard where your specified forename and surname or family’s name will be stamped on the brick of clay in the wet state. Later the bricks will be dried, glazed and baked at 1 000 °C temperature.
  6. Arrive at the ceremony for of the opening the sculpture “The Road of Freedom” on 23 August 2010 and find your own brick.
  7. All questions will be answered by e-mail: pagalba@laisveskelias.lt.
